Trace, Copy, Cover & Write

This generates a printable Trace, Copy, Cover & Write (also known as Trace Copy Cover & Close) worksheet. Students trace the word with a pencil on the lined version of the word in the first column, copy the word into the second column while looking at the first column as a reference, cover the first two columns with a piece of paper, write the word in the third column, spelling it from memory, then remove the cover and check to see if they got it right.

Customization options: font type (lined or cursive), font size.

Best for grades K-3. Generates 8 words per page, with as many pages as needed.

Definition Match

This is a printable Definition Match worksheet generator.

Students need to find the word that matches the definition, and write the word to the left of the definition.

Across the top of the worksheet are the first 10 words from your word list. Below are the definitions of those words.

Best for grades 4-12.

Word Search Puzzle

This generates a Word Search puzzle worksheet for up to 20 words.

Students need to find and circle the words in the word search. Words are hidden across, down, and diagonally.

The grid of letters is in the upper half, and the words to find are in the lower half.

This generates a printable 'Write 5 Sentences for 5 Words' worksheet.

The words are all printed on the left side of the page, and there are 5 sets of lines for students to write a sentence, using words from the list on the left.

The student picks any of the five words, and writes a sentence on each line for each of these five words.

Bingo Cards

This generates a classroom's worth of Bingo printable worksheets.

Enter as many words as you want, but at least 24. We will then create 20 Bingo cards for you, one per page. Each card will have a random assortment of 24 words placed onto the 5x5 grid. Print only what you need.

The last page will be the full list of words for the word caller to pick from.

To play, you or a student acts as the word caller and calls out a word from the full list on the last page. Your students mark it off on their Bingo card. The first student to get five words in a row horizontally, vertically or diagonally, calls out 'Bingo' and wins!

Word Matrix with Word Hunt

This generates a Word Matrix with Word Hunt worksheet activity.

This is a key activity in Morphology and Structured Word Inquiry, and helps students understand how words are built from prefixes, roots, and suffixes.

Enter your words, and the system will 1) find the base and all prefixes and suffixes, 2) construct a Word Matrix, and 3) generate a worksheet that has the Word Matrix at the top and Word Hunt spaces below, for the student to write words that they find.

The first page has the Word Matrix and an area for the student to write words that they find.

The second page serves as the answer key, listing the words that you entered to create this Word Matrix.
